Resources
There are mainly four types of magnetic materials, Neodymium magnet, AlNiCo magnet, Ceramic ferrite magnet and SmCo magnet. They have different properties, and are used for different industry and applications.

Neodymium Magnet
Description
Neodymium Magnets, also known as NdFeB or Neo magnets, are the most widely-used type of rare-earth magnets. It is the strongest type of permanent magnet made from an alloy of Neodymium, Iron, and Boron with the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline structure.
Features
1>highest maximum energy product of any magnetic material
2>High resistance to demagnetization
3>Max working temperature
4>vulnerable to corrosion
Application
1>motor
2>sensors
3>speakers
4>rotors
5>alarm
6>microphones
7>wind turbines/wind generators
8>magnetic hooks, magnetic holders, filters,fast
9>automobiles
AlNiCo Magnet
Description
AlNiCo Magnets are made of the alloy of Aluminum-Nickel-Cobalt which possesses excellent temperature stability and high residual induction. AlNiCo magnets have a low coercive force that limits their applications in many cases.
Alnico magnets are ideal for corrosive and high heat applications up to 930°F (500°C).
Features
1>highest operating temperature and temperature stability of any magnetic material
2>light weight
3>Max working temperature up to 480℉
4>Highly corrosion resistant
Application
1>marine
2>sensor
3>school experiments
4>specific automotive application

Ceramic Ferrite Magnet
Description
Ceramic Ferrite magnet is composed of iron oxide and strontium or barium carbonate. one of the most cost-effective magnetic materials. It has a fair to good resistance toward corrosion and it can operate in moderate heat. Ceramic Ferrite magnets are low energy products and they are usually used in assemblies containing mild steel.
Features
1>low cost
2>light weight
3>Max working temperature up to 480℉
4>Highly corrosion resistant
5>Wide range of shapes available
Application
1>speaker
2>DC motors
3>reed switches
4>Sweepers
5>MRI
6>automotive sensor
Samarium Cobalt Magnet
Description
Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) magnets are magnets composed of rare earth alloys, with high resistance to corrosion, oxidation, demagnetization and high temperatures. Their strength is similar to neodymium magnets, but SmCo magnets have better performance in retaining their magnetic strength. Therefore, SmCo magnets can function in applications that run on extremely high or low high temperatures.
Features
1>High maximum energy
2>wider temperature range
3>superior temperature coefficients
4>greater resistance to corrosion
Application
ideal for applications involving high or very low temperatures
1>Aerospace and Defense:
2>Medical Devices
3>Motors and Generators
4>Sensors
5>high-end audio equipment
6>drilling and exploration equipment
